Welcome to the home of the Anubian Spitz, a created breed designed by SilverPocky and moderated by @MidnightAyaDARPG. The Anubian Spitz is, as the name suggests, a medium sized spitz breed developed in Egypt for the purposes of being a working farm dog: herding, guarding livestock, and hauling carts and sleds around the homestead.
Their name stems from their pointed ears and the most commonly seen marking in the breed; a dark mask that covers the face and at times extends to the neck.
The breed stands between 19.00" and 24.00" at the withers and comes in three distinct coat types.
Sphynx Coat ✹ Sleek Coat ✹ Woolly Coat
The Anubian Spitz is a CLOSED breed.

THE ANUBIAN AT WORK:
The Anubian Spitz is an all around farm dog used by shepherds to drive and tend livestock including sheep, goats, and fowl. They are not a heading breed / do not have a strong eye like the Border Collie, nor do they have the bark of the other northern spitz breeds like the Lapphunds or Samoyed. Anubians are heelers and drive livestock at a slow to medium pace from the back. They can also serve as a livestock guardian and a living fence to contain livestock similar to the German and Belgian Shepherd breeds.
Anubians who take on a draught function happily thrive in the harness. While they are not the fastest of the sled dog breeds, they are powerful and serve the same role as the Alaskan Malamute or Canadian Eskimo Dog. When used in a mixed breed sled team, they are most often suited toward the back of the sled as team or wheel dogs. Anubians also make fantastic carting and drafting dogs, both as a single dog and in pairs.

The Anubian Spitz is a Pedigree-Club approved breed for the earning of CACIB and CACIT certificates as well as health testing, titles, and showing.
